Merchandising Analyst Intern

As a Merchandise Analyst Intern, you will build a strong foundation in merchandising and planning by supporting business analysis, inventory execution, and operational processes. You will help ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time while gaining exposure to assortment planning, inventory strategy, and cross-functional business partnerships. You will develop analytical and business acumen while learning how Merchandising and Planning work together to drive business performance.
As a Merchandise Analyst Intern, you will build a strong foundation in merchandising and planning by supporting business analysis, inventory execution, and operational processes. You will help ensure the right products are in the right place at the right time while gaining exposure to assortment planning, inventory strategy, and cross-functional business partnerships. You will develop analytical and business acumen while learning how Merchandising and Planning work together to drive business performance.
✨ What You’ll Do
- Analyze sales, inventory, and business trends through reporting and data analysis to support business decisions
- Learn how merchandising and planning strategies influence inventory placement, product performance, and customer experience
- Assist with inventory allocation, replenishment, and deployment activities to support sales and service levels
- Observe and support purchase order tracking, inventory flow, and vendor coordination to understand end-to-end business execution
- Learn how planning strategies are developed by participating in forecasting, inventory planning, and business review discussions
- Actively engage in competitive shopping, analyzing trends and competitor pricing and marketing
- Network with over 150 interns participating in Kohl's internship program at Corporate Headquarters
- Hear directly from senior leaders through Kohl's Executive Speaker Series
- Additional tasks may be assigned
💡 What Skills You Have
Required
- Undergraduate Junior pursuing a degree in Business, Merchandising, Retail Management, Supply Chain, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to create and analyze spreadsheets (e.g., Excel)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Passion for retail, products, and delivering a great customer experience

Production Intern

As a Production Intern, you will assist your team in developing, sourcing and executing all of Kohl's private and exclusive label brands.
As a Production Intern, you will assist your team in developing, sourcing and executing all of Kohl's private and exclusive label brands.
✨ What You’ll Do
- Help your office with aspects of the concept-to-customer process (CTC) including production, costing and sample management
- Assist with daily activities such as quality reviews, vendor emails, meeting set-up and product review
- Shadow and learn from all levels of your team, mainly the product development coordinator
- Develop business skills such as collaboration, communication and business analytics and increase product-specific knowledge
- Communicate and upkeep weekly recap info with overseas (tracking color submits, sample status)
- Support updates in Kohl’s style management system (One PLM)
- Create and maintain reference libraries for teams (marketing, fabric, etc.)
- Additional tasks may be assigned

- Foster vendor partnerships by utilizing vendor scorecards, analyzing performance metrics and participating in strategic discussions
- Support the costing process and implementation of sourcing strategies through research, analysis, reporting and data visualization
- Manage data effectively, including building and maintaining reports and presentations
- Monitor and manage centralized sourcing mailboxes

✨ What You’ll Do
- Conduct analysis, derive insights and collaborate with various stakeholders
- Manage and analyze large datasets to identify trends, develop charts and create visual presentations that support strategic decision-making
- Utilize analytics tools to analyze spend and costing data, identifying opportunities for spend optimization and cost reduction (e.g., regression analysis, scenario modeling, sensitivity analysis, cost-benefit analysis)
- Extract key insights from analyses, synthesizing large amounts of data to identify trends and their implications for sourcing strategy
- Provide analysis to inform insights and reporting findings, and utilize analyses to prepare the sourcing team for critical vendor negotiations and company decision-making initiatives

In this role you will execute the product development and production for Kohl’s private and exclusive label brands to ensure quality and on-time deliveries.
✨ What You’ll Do
- Own daily email production correspondence with vendors and suppliers
- Purchase order management and logistics/imports management
- Own monitoring production progress via WIP (work in production) trackers
- Manage sample requests and track samples through submission, approval, and milestones
- Update and maintain accuracy in our style management system (onePLM/OPA)
- Prepare and contribute to production discussions and reviews to ensure deadlines are met
- Communicate effectively with the K-Link team regarding vendor information accuracy
- Responsible for calendarizing and execution of agreed upon agility strategies (Read & React, Replenishment)
- Participate in cross-functional team meetings to update on product development progress
- Assist with meeting set up, take down and maintenance - focusing on sample and submit management
- Support team workspace and sample room organization
- Assist in style handoff and ASHO meetings as needed
- May assist in sustainability efforts to meet or achieve brand goals
- May assist in customer review analysis and recaps
