We want you to feel confident in taking your place at Kohl's, so we've gathered the most frequently asked questions received from candidates. Take a look to learn more about what to expect throughout the hiring process. 

Application

- You will then be taken to a list of open positions near you

To ensure you're applying to your preferred location, simply confirm the address listed in the job description.

Our team is working hard to review your application and will reach out to you as soon as possible! Here are a few tips on how to stay up to date on the status of your application:

- Monitor the email you used when you applied. We'll send you updates and info on next steps soon. Don't forget to check spam and junk folders.

- Check the status of your application by logging into the account you created when you initially applied. 

If you applied to a corporate or field leadership position, you'll be contacted directly by a recruiter if you are determined to be a fit for one of our open roles. 

You can reset your password within your candidate account by following the steps below:
  • Start on the homepage of your candidate account
  • Locate the link that states "Forgot Password"
  • Enter the email address that you used to create your candidate account
  • You will then receive an email with a link to reset your password

Here's a few helpful hints when choosing your new password: 
  • Must contain at least 8 characters
  • Must include at least one of each of the following
    • lower and upercase alphabetic character
    • numeric character
    • special character (e.g. ! @ $)

Current associates should search and apply for job openings through Kohl's internal careersite. To navigate there, click "already an associate" in the located in the top right hand corner of this site's menu. 

Your recruiter is here for you through the entire process. For questions from interview through orientation, reach out to your recruiter directly. They are here to help!

You can update your contact information within your candidate account by following the steps below:

If you are not a former associate
 
  • Start on the homepage of your candidate account
  • Log in with your email and password
  • Scroll down to My Account on the right hand side, select the Update Contact Information button
  • Edit the appropriate fields and select OK


If you're a former associate 
 
  • Update your contact information by accessing your myHR Portal
  • Navigate to myhr.kohls.com
  • Select Alumni, Spouses & Domestic Partners
  • If you are a new user, select "New User" and fill out the appropriate sections
  • Once logged in, select the "Verify Personal Information" tile
  • Here you'll be able to update your phone number, email address, name, etc.

Interview

No worries! Emails sometimes get lost in the shuffle. Follow the instructions below to schedule your interview:
  • Click here to login to your candidate account using your username and password
  • Locate the My Tasks section. Here you'll see outstanding tasks.
  • Click Start
  • Follow the instructions to select an Event Date

When you receive error messages, it usually helps to attempt the following:

 
  • Switch from a phone/tablet to a laptop/desktop computer
  • Change browser (e.g. from Chrome to Internet Explorer, or from Safari to Firefox)
  • Disable pop-up blocking

We try to let you know the outcome of your in-person interview within 48 hours. That message is sent via email to the address you used for your candidate account. Be sure to check your spam/junk mail folder first, and if you have been waiting longer than 48 hours to hear from us, please click here to send a message to the Kohl’s Talent Acquisition Team.

If you interviewed for a leadership position and have a question on your interview, please contact your recruiter directly.

Each location tries to offer as many day and time options as possible to work with different candidate schedules. If the times provided don’t work for you, please send us a message here to let us know. 

The amount of times you are allowed to reschedule is limited, so we always encourage you to attend at the day and time you originally selected.

If your interview date is in the future

  • Under My Scheduled Events, select the blue hyperlink
  • Then select the Reschedule Event button

If your interview date was in the past
  • Click here to send a message to our team

Offer

Follow the steps below to locate your offer forms:
  • Click here to login to your candidate account
  • Locate the My Task section. Here you will see any outstanding tasks
  • Click the Start button on each offer document listed

All forms are complete once there are no additional tasks listed under the My Task section.

If you received a notification that you have offer documents to complete, follow the steps below:
 
  • Click here to login to your candidate account
  • Locate the My Task section. Here you will see any outstanding tasks.
  • Click the Start button on each offer document listed. 


All forms are complete once there are no additional tasks listed under the My Task section. 

Once completed, your form(s) will be electronically submitted to our Talent Acquisition Team. That's it! There's no need to print the forms, bring them to the store, or email them as attachments.

You’ll receive a confirmation email within 48 hours to let you know that everything was submitted and to explain next steps.

If you applied to a corporate position and have questions on the status of your offer forms, please contact your recruiter directly.

If you are declining your offer for any reason, please click here to send a message notifying the Kohl’s Talent Acquisition Team.

If you applied to a corporate or field leadership position, please contact your recruiter directly. 

You should have received an email notification from our vendor - First Advantage - with details on how to complete the pre-employment check process, if applicable, including how to take a drug test if required. The email will come from a @fadv.com email address. Be sure to check your inbox as well as your spam/junk folder.

Orientation

You'll receive an email with the subject line, Ready to start with Kohl's"your name"? It's time to choose your first day. This will allow you to choose a date and time that works for you. We appreciate your patience as processing your background check can take up to a week, and sometimes longer to complete. 

If you accepted a corporate or field leadership position, your recruiter will be in touch with you directly to schedule your first day.

If you have not received the confirmation email with first day information and your Orientation date is in the future
 

  • You may reschedule yourself using your original scheduling link (from your orientation email)
  • Click here to login to your candidate account
  • Under My Scheduled Events, select the blue hyperlink
  • Then select the Reschedule Event button


If you have received your confirmation email with your first day information and your orientation is in the past
 
  • Click here to contact us
  • We ask that new hires make every effort to keep the original orientation date and time they selected as we cannot always guarantee a reschedule. 

You’ll need to bring :
 

  • Emergency contact information
  • Bank routing and account number to set up direct deposit of your pay
  • Documentation for the I-9 verification process, please see the I-9 acceptable documents form attached to your offer letter
  • Minors Only: You may be required to bring in a valid work permit. Not having valid documentation may prevent you from starting to work, including attending orientation. Please contact your store manager if you’re unsure.

Once you've scheduled your first day, you'll be contacted by email or from a recruiter with more details on what to wear, where to go, and what to expect. 

Here at Kohl's, you are expected to demonstrate good judgment and professional taste when dressing for work. Clothing and footwear should be neat and not excessively worn.  

Dress Code Guidelines:

Tops
  • You have wide discretion in choosing the color, style, type, manufacturer, and material of your top. Non-graphic t-shirts, polo shirts, dress shirts, sweaters, long sleeves, and short sleeves - whether collared or collarless - are all acceptable.

Bottoms
  • Denim jeans, capris, skirts, or business casual pants of any color

Casual or Active Footwear
  • Active (athletic/tennis), casual, fashion or open-heel shoes
